‘Stand Up Comedy Challenge’ coming up

In what could be a great opportunity for the highly talented but lesser appreciated artistes in the state, a stand-up comedy challenge under the theme ‘The Ultimate Laughter Begins’, will soon be coming up for the comedians with attractive prizes.
The auditions for the challenge will be held on May 27 at Hotel Saramati and any interested person can participate in the challenge as there will be no age bar for the competitors.
Prizes for the challenge have been set as Rs 50,000 for the winner wile Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 for the first and second runners-up respectively.
The winner will also get an opportunity to shoot a comedy movie with one of the renowned comedians in the state Hopong Naga.
Registrations forms for the challenge will be made available at Kiran Sports store, Popular bakery, Furtados and Dream Café (Kohima).
The show is solely projected at promoting Naga comedians and basing on that the interested comedians can use any language or dialects they are comfortable with, including, Nagamese, English or Hindi.
After the auditions, the selected competitors will get a chance to perform on weekend shows where the general public can also come and enjoy.
The weekend shows will also have special appearances by Hopong Naga.
The challenge has been jointly organized by Livemaster and Classic Entertainment, North East.
The organizers have invited all the talented comedians to come and participate in the event.
