Native Trax Society (NTS) has decided come up with a new addition during its Music Awards 2012 with the inclusion of Hindi songs in addition to those in English, Nagamese and various local dialects.

In a statement issued by its president, Mengulhoulie Mepfüo said this has been done in order to allow wider participation and broaden the scope of the music awards of Nagaland.

However, it said criteria for consideration remain the same, i.e entries must be original compositions recorded within Nagaland. Native Trax Network also informed that entries for the music award of Nagaland 2012 can be submitted not only by bands and singers but also by the composers, producers, directors, sound engineers, studios of their representatives.

NTS said the aim is to encourage not just the singers and musicians but also other people connected to the music business such as producers, directors, sound engineers etc while also to create a spirit of healthy competition and encourage them to excel in their respective field of expertise.

The ultimate aim of the awards is to promote the growth of a vibrant Naga Music industry prominent on the world stage, it added.
