1 AR jawan killed, 4 injured in Mnp blast

A personnel of the 17 Assam Rifles was killed while four others were injured when militants ambushed an Assam Rifles patrolling party by triggering an IED blast in Ukhrul district of Manipur on Thursday. The deceased jawan  was identified as havlidar Rohit. 
Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) claimed responsibility saying the attack was carried out by its armed wing-- People Liberation Army (PLA). They also claimed responsibility for the June 3 attack on Assam Rifles column along Imphal-Moreh section of NH-102. In a statement, PLA said the attack was launched by “war office”, under director commando of the chief of Army Staff of the PLA. PLA said Thursday’s attack was carried out against AR troops under the command of one Major for allegedly harassing villagers of the area.
