KFL: New Market FC beat Ziekezou SC 2-1

New Market FC came from behind to beat Ziekezou SC 2-1 at the ongoing Kohima Football League (KFL) organized by Kohima Town Club played at Kohima local ground on Saturday. 
Playing a closely contested match in front of a big crowd, the match provided a nail biting prediction to the spectators. In the first half, both the team were cancelling each other in the midfield area but were unsuccessful in their attempts. New Market FC came close when Rhitso Mero was pulled down by the keeper inside the area but the referee waved on for the play instead of awarding a penalty, and the first half ended in a goalless draw. 
Ziekezou finally broke the deadlock in the second half when Khakevi Assumi eased passed the rival defenders and scored the goal in the 47th minutes. But the goal celebration was a short stay, as Chisie Nyusou netted the much-needed equalizer 13th minutes later. The keeper was at fault as he wasn’t able to clear the ball and Chisie tap the ball in. 
With the goal, New Market FC ignited their spirit again and scored another goal in the 77th minutes through a penalty after the defender was penalized inside the area. The skipper Stephen Rutsa coolly converted the spot kick to make it 2-1.
Ziekezou put the pressure to equalize the scoreline, despite their numerous attempts; they failed to find the equalizer in the second half. 
Vilhobeituo Yhome got his chance to find the net when his teammate latches a through ball inside the area but shot the ball wide. Khrukhoto Resu headed the ball wide when Athing Konyak assisted him with a long range free kick. Vilhobeituo Yhome and Khrukhoto Resu rued their missed opportunity as the team failed to a point in the first match.  
Chisie Nyusou of New Market FC was cautioned with a yellow card for a foul play during the match.
In the post match media briefing, team coach of Ziekezou FC Zakie Khroti said there was a bit misunderstanding in the second half among the players and they didn’t play up expectation. Skipper Kevizapu Lhoungu admitted that they lack proper team combination and muddy ground also spoilt their performance. 
Abalie John Rhezhii, media officer of New Market FC said due to the sloppy condition of the ground, the game was not up to their expectation but said he was happy with the three points today. He also echoed concern about the ground condition which restrict the players to play up to their expectation. 
Roukuonilie Kesiezie owner of Lozi Hundai Kohima was the match patron for the fourth match.
