Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has appealed to all responsible to restrain from commenting on its statehood demand (Frontier Nagaland).
In a press release, media cell, ENPO said the appeal was made after taking note of the “uninvited and deliberate statements” in public functions, gatherings, statements etc. over the past years and published through local media. It said the people of ENPO considered such statements as being “discriminatory and exploitive”, extremely insensitive, unbecoming, ill-motivated, and were thus unwelcomed by the public.
With regard to the size, status and idea of a statehood, ENPO said it was universally and factually not merely the size, position or location that mattered as such, but fundamental and democratic justification especially in a modern and progressive country like the Republic of India.
ENPO pointed out that there were countries smaller than Nagaland state or even the proposed Eastern Nagaland state (Frontier Nagaland), which were also modern and progressive.
