Three apex tribe bodies - Ao Senden, Lotha Hoho and Sumi Hoho, have approved and endorsed the upgradation of Central Nagaland Tribe Council (CNTC) to State level. The declaration was made by presidents of the three Hohos- Imolemba, Mhao Humtsoe and Toniho Yeptho, during CNTC’s 3rd anniversary celebration at Lotha Hoho Ki, here on Tuesday.
Following the declaration, a 15-member (five representatives each from the three apex Hohos) interim council has been formed. The council has been given two months time to frame the constitution and after which state level CNTC would be launched officially. Presidents of the three Hohos also lighted a candle endorsing upgradation of CNTC.
CNTC president, Hokiye Yepthomi dwelled on the objective of the council and said CNTC on upgradation to state level would enter into a new era.
He reminded the members that CNTC would focus for the betterment of not only the three tribes but for the larger interest of the Nagas.
