Model Christian College (MCC) organized one-day programme on “capacity building for teachers” on March 12.
HoD education NU, Dr. Lungsang Zeliang who was the resource person in the first session, spoke on the topic, “research methodology.” She gave a clear description on research methodology and how to select a research topic and basic characteristics of research. The session was chaired by HoD Political Science, Meyiesül Chaya and welcome note delivered by MCC vice principal, Dr. Nungshikokla.
In the second session, the topic “effective classroom management” was delivered by Dr. Limala. She spoke on the fundamental strategies and techniques of effective classroom management. Resource person for the third session, NCTE principal, Dr. Bendangyapangla spoke on the topic, “lesson preparation at higher education level”. She also gave instructions to the teachers on how to prepare his/her lessons in order to make the classroom an interactive classroom. The session was chaired by HoD Sociology, Kevileno Zao.
Another resource person, assistant professor NCTE, Alemla Longkumer spoke on “effective use of ICT in teaching-learning” and said that UNESCO had implemented strategies and objectives to develop the education system in the world through information technology. She told the teachers that with advancement of science and technology, it was time to make use of IT for teaching-learning process. Programme ended with words of gratitude by dean of academic MCC, Jankhanmoi.
