Congress has claimed that the central Transport Subsidy Scheme meant for certain and specified categories of small scale industries was to the tune of Rs.297 crore and that 80% of the units were floated by vested interests and those in power in the DAN government.

According to a Congress leader, the list provided for wide media circulation was meant to create awareness about the rights of the people which are being denied at the high levels of the DAN government.

The Congress also said it would continue to highlight such the misdeeds of the DAN government and also file for detailed subsidy amount for each unit.

It was also disclosed, that various complaints were reported by some who were shocked to have their names as published in the media.

These complainants claim they had no idea about being recipients of subsidies.
The detailed list of subsidies for small scale industrial units will continue to be published in subsequent issues.
