Training on citrus fruit and its economic importance was organised by ATMA Kuhuboto block on August 6 at KGPO Hall, Kuhuboto town.

Martha Yeptho, SMS (ATMA), Kuhuboto Block, Dimapur was the resource person.
Martha encouraged farmers to grow citrus plants as it was the most widely planted fruit because of its high economic importance, not only the fruit itself but even the leaves and flowers are useful for extraction of essential oils that are used for the production of materials such as cosmetics, medicines, pesticides, insecticides etc.

She also highligted that citrus juice also has medical uses and lemon juice is used to relieve the pain of bee stings while oranges were historically used for their high content of vitamin C, which prevents scurvy.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Akavi Holo, BTM (ATMA) Kuhuboto Block.
