AYO set to celebrate silver jubilee

Angami youth organization (AYO) president Medo Yhokha informed that AYO silver jubilee celebration preparation was in full swing which would be held on November 4 & 5 at Kigwema village with Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio as the chief guest on the inaugural day. This was informed during a press conference at the Kigwema village on Sunday afternoon, attended by the convenor organizing committee Gonei-u Sirie, secretary organizing committee Kezhazer Angami and other officials.   
Yhokha said AYO was working for the welfare and security of the general public in the state capital with concern as being the traditional land owner. 
Yhokha expressed gratitude to various communities living in the state capital over the years for their cooperation towards AYO activities and also informed that it had never worked against anybody on tribal line. 
He also informed that the organizers were expecting around 7-8 thousand youths, members from different villages and other Naga communities to participate in the celebration.
AYO president disclosed that silver jubilee would be celebrated on eco-friendly line by using traditional leaf cutlery instead of plastic. He said this concern was an encouragement to be spread to other villages and Naga communities.
Convenor organizing committee Gonei-u Sirie said AYO was formed during crucial period when Angami and Naga people needed a guiding organization during the peak hour of Naga factional clashes. He opined that this jubilee would further build better relationship, unity and understanding among various communities.
 Kezhazer Angami said AYO was formed during crucial stage in 1991 to give security and to state capital Kohima dwellers. 
Secretary women’s affairs AYO Zashekhono Tetso said the organization aimed to celebrate the jubilee differently with motive to retrospect and express gratitude to God and for a better future.
