Acquire quality education: Patton

Nagaland home minister, Y. Patton, on Thursday urged the students to acquire quality education and compete with the rest the world.
Speaking as chief guest at the Yanthamo village students’ union (YVSU) golden jubilee programme at Yanthamo village, Wokha on Thursday, the home minister said the only way out to compete with others was to work hard. Reminding the students that they were living in a competitive world, Patton challenged them to strive for excellence.
On the occasion, the home minister also stated that jubilee was a time to forgive, rebuild and renew for better future.
Earlier, the chief guest unveiled the Jubilee monolith at YVSU office building.
Also, speaking as guest of honour, the secretary to the government of Nagaland, Motsuthung Lotha, said education and Christianity were co-related in Naga society.
Urging the student community to work hard, he said there was no substitute for hard work.
He also encouraged the students to be dedicated in their studies and be more responsible. Lotha also urged them to strive and succeed in life by walking with God.
SDEO Meluri, Zayao Lotha spoke on the Jubilee theme “Knowledge Empreinte Ascendency”.
The Jubilee Monolith was dedicated by Lotha Baptist Ekhumkho Sanrutsu (LBES) executive secretary, Rev. Nyanchumo Ezung. Welcome addressed was delivered by Khonthungo Kikon, Jubilee Planning Convener, while the Golden Jubilee celebration was marked by presentation of cultural songs and dances.
