Free medical camp at Satami village

A free medical camp was organised by 111th BSF Battalion, Satakha in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Zunheboto on Friday at Satami Village under Aghunato Sub-division.
According to DIPR report, speaking on the occasion as chief guest, vice patron and founding member IRCS, and advisor to chief minister, Huskha Yepthomi, stressed on the genesis of IRCS founded by Henry Dunant during the war between France and Austria in the 19th century.
While lauding the contribution of IRCS throughout the world, Huskha said its contribution was immense not only in times of war but also during natural calamities and disasters.
Huskha also thanked the Commandant, 111BSF Bn, and his subordinate officials, CMO (SG), Dr. L.L Mondal and his team for the sacrifices in carrying out the humanitarian task in remote areas like Satami.
Meanwhile, IRCS have extended gratitude to parliamentary secretary, Soil and Water Conservation, Pukhayi Assumi, CMO, Zunheboto, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Pharmacy owners at Zunheboto for their contribution towards the medical camp.
The programme was also attended by ADC, Zunheboto, Nungsangmenla Imchen, 2I/C, Nitin Gupta, deputy commandant, Huska Sema and a host of dignitaries.
Altogether, 11 Booths with 9 specialized doctors conducted the free medical check up. More than 220 patients were treated and were given free medicines.
