Seminar on legal literacy programme in Wokha

One day seminar on legal literacy programme was organized by Niropen Eloe Ekhung (NEE) in collaboration with Wokha District Legal Services Authority at Niropen community hall, Wokha on Friday.
In the seminar, resource person, APP, Renbemo Tungoe, spoke on Juvenile Justice Act, where he emphasised on the two categories of children, child in conflict with laws and child in need of care and protection.
Resource person, retainer lawyer, Lichani, dwelled on domestic violence and asked the women folk to be aware of this Act and become learned when faced with such at homes.
Meanwhile, resource person, panel lawyer, David Ezung shared on Right to Education and Child Friendly Legal Services and their protection. He advised the gathering to make sure that every child was admitted at schools and asked the council members to be vigilant.
Resource person from child welfare committee, Melody Love, spoke on Role of CWC, where she explained on the roles and responsibilities citing certain cases related to Wokha local case. She inspired all with her personal experiences and called upon all participants to look at children as our own so that we could witness a nation of learned leaders.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered, NEE Ebibeni S. Kikon, Niropen council chairman also encouraged the participants to learn the legal privileges and to utilise them when necessary and later vote of thanks was delivered by NEE assistant general secretary Areni. L. Ezung.  Altogether, 60 persons participated in the programme.
