NCD appeals Municipal deptt on dumping wastes

Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has appealed to the Municipal Affairs department to allow the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) to dump garbage and waste at the present dumping site till October 2018 i.e. till the completion of the solid waste management facility.
In a representation addressed to the parliamentary secretary municipal affairs, the NCD president, T Bangerloba, and general secretary, Thsapongkyu Sangtam, said in the event of non-cooperation or protest by the Sunrise colony against dumping of wastage the present site, the general public of Dimapur have resolved “to proceed for de-recognition of the said colony from the concerned authority.” The signatories said this was resolved at an emergency public meeting held on August 12, 2017 at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur under the aegis of the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD).
NCD also appealed to the state government to abide by the agreement that was arrived at between the government of Nagaland and Newwaves Biofuels India Pvt Ltd. on October 3, 2016 for setting up of solid waste management project. NDC said in the terms and conditions of the agreement it has been “clearly emphasized that the project shall be completed within a period of two years.”
Failure to complete the project within the stipulated time, the NCD cautioned that the general public of Dimapur would “do anything within its power against either the government of Nagaland or the Newwaves Biofuels India Pvt Ltd.”
