Chakhesang Women Welfare Society (CWWS), North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA) Kohima and Tsupfume Youth Organization (TYO) initiated a sanitation programme at Tsupfume village, Phek district on August 11.
A press note by CWWS executive director, V. Kanuo stated that objective of the programme was to create awareness and support farmers in making informed choices on daily hygiene habits and healthy living.
Speaking in the programme, executive director CWWS elucidated on need for holistic approach towards health and hygiene while senior project associate NEIDA, Dr. Ketinaro Aier accentuated on the risks of zoonotic disease transmission, considering the closeness that Nagas shared with their livestock.

The programme supported by PHED Pfutsero and TATA Trusts was attended by 122 youth, farmers and women.
It must be noted that CWWS in partnership with NEIDA is implementing a sustainable livelihoods promotion project titled “From subsistence to prosperity through community led and managed livelihood programs in Phek district” in 25 villages across three  blocks namely Kikruma, Chizami and Pfutsero blocks in Phek District, funded by TATA Trusts.
