MCCI conducts meeting; adopts resolutions

Mon Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) held its 5th session general meeting on December 1 at Council Hall Mon HQ. According to a press statement by sessional chairman, Howing Konyak and sessional secretary, Ünok SN, the house resolved that the term of the elective council would be for three years, the president would be nominated by the advisory board members in consultation with the executive council, the advisory would act as advisor to the executive council and that any taxation should be in concern to Konyak union and administration.
It also resolved that all shops and business establishments under the town should be registered under MCCI by virtue of paying the annual membership fees under the Rs. 300, Rs. 200 and Rs. 100, wherein the audit would be done by an auditor elected by the executive council and collections of individuals would not be entertained unless approved by the house. It resolved that expiry goods would not be allowed to sell in the market. If any were found doing so, an action would be taken and checking would not be allowed in the market without the knowledge of MCCI and administration authority. 
MCCI resolved that it would also conduct a meeting every year and as activities of the relating to business welfare matter, the office bearers of MCCI should comprise of at least 50% from business community and entrepreneurs, and remaining posts would be filled by active local who are well aware of local problems and situation.
Further, MCCI appointed new office bearers during the meeting for the tenure of 2017-2020, where Ünok SN was appointed as president, K. Kamnyi Konyak as general secretary along with other members.
