Yingli College Longleng celebrates 25th anniv

Yingli College Longleng, the brain child of the Association of Phom Graduate and Officer (APGO), celebrated 25th anniversary on December 6 with Advisor, Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) & Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development (NEPED), S. Pangnyu Phom and parliamentary secretary for Land Resources & Excise, B.S. Nganlang Phom, as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
According to DIPR report, speaking on the occasion Pangnyu congratulated and saluted the APGO for having the visions for the future generation of its people. 
He appealed to the faculty members to make Yingli College a role model of imparting quality education to the students and to adopt job orientation course and skill development. 
B.S. Nganlang, in his speech, said that human resource development was the key to all-round development of any society. He said while celebrating such occasion one must honour the pioneers, Nganlang  then asked them to focus on the future development of the lone college of the district with a commitment.    
Recollecting the initial period of hardship and financial constrain for establishment of the college, Dr. L. Anjo Keikung, first general secretary & former president of APGO, said with few visionary leaders of the APGO supported by the various NGOs and civil societies of the Phom community and selfless contribution made by the individuals and from the VDB funds the demand for higher educational institution under Longleng gradually become a community concern. 
He asserted that the founding members never expected such credit and celebration at the initial stage but the dream of the pioneers to establish a college was done out of their love and concern for the youngster and future generation of the Phom community in particular and the Nagas in general. 
Dr. Keikung also appealed to the students to fulfill the dreams and visions of the pioneers through hard work and dedication with commitment.  He informed that by the grace of God the college was taken over by the Government in the year 2006.
Greetings were proposed by Arup Borgohain son of late Professor K. Borgohain, founder principal Yingli College; P. Chingan, president PPC; Y. Denngan Avennoho Phom, DC Longleng; E. Ongha Phom, chairman Bhumnyu Village Council; Y.B. Angam, president APGO & former CMC chairman; Dr. Kongyan, former president APGO & secretary college organizing committee and exhortation by T. Imdong Phom, first president APGO. 
Invocation was delivered by Y. Nuklu Phom, executive secretary PBCA, welcome address by the principal K. Hokheto Sumi. Roll of honour was presented by jubilee choir, alumni melody by Yongkai, Lemphu, Imnatula & Henila, Acapella by Budenpangli & friends. 
The chief guest also inaugurated the jubilee monolith. Vote of thanks was delivered by the Dr. B. Henshet Phom, vice principal and benediction by Rev. H. Beau Pastor LTBC.
