Ao Students Union Dimapur (ASUD) inaugurated the Yimkong Sidewalk and Mural near West Police Station Dimapur on December 6. 

Speaking to the gathering, former chief secretary, Alemtemshi Jamir stated that Nagaland was standing at the threshold of history, where the public was trying to make the state a better place to live in. He also encouraged the ASUD to carry on contributing to making Dimapur a better place. He mentioned that the inauguration of the Yimkong Sidewalk and Mural was a big leap for the Nagas and an encouraging challenge for the people of Dimapur.

Words of appreciation were given by administrator, DMC, Moatemsu Sangtam, where he urged the gathering to contribute something for Dimapur. He also mentioned that the Yimkong Sidewalk and Mural was the longest of its kind in whole of North East India. 

An introductory speech was given by convenor, Golden Jubilee Planing Committee, AKTD, K. Temjen Jamir, where he introduced the artists, namely, Manen Imsong, Aten Nokdir, Lipokmeren, Yimnuti Noktdir and Longmojang, who painted the entire Mural for free. He also mentioned that the Yimklong Sidewalk was longer than 1000 feet. 

The program was compeered by Kathyla Jamir and vote of thanks was given by president, ASUD, Lanutoshi Aier. Benediction was offered by associate pastor, DABA, Toshi Longkumer, followed by refreshments and an interaction session.
