DBHSS hosts inter-school peace seminar

Three-day inter school peace seminar and summer camp for peace club members of Dimapur district commenced on July 10 under the theme, “passion for excellence” at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS).

A press release by Peace Channel stated that on day one, Fr Dr C. P. Anto, exhorted the youth to be the messengers of peace and make Nagaland a model state for peace in India by 2030. 

He also encouraged and motivated the participants to build peace and be a change makers in the family, schools and communities as they go back home. 

Maj. Mohit Singh from Assam Rifles, who was the special guest, spoke on the importance of peace and the role of children and youth in building peace. 

Elizabeth Lotha, who gave the motivational talk, spoke on the importance of children and youth to be the role models in the family and educational institutions.  

The release stated that the main objective of the seminar was to capacitate and empower the club members to learn non-violent communication, share their experiences in peace building as leaders and promote peace where ever they are. 

More than 200 students representing 13 schools form Dimapur District are participating in the three-day event.
