Dimapur Police Crime reports

Dimapur Police, through its Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, has released a list of its crime reports covering both December 2018 and January 2019. For all the arrests, cases have been registered at the relevant Police Stations and investigations are on.

4 arrested on extortion charges
On receipt of multiple complaints of extortion and armed robbery from commercial vehicles, Dimapur Police Anti Extortion Team (AET) arrested two miscreants from Burma Camp Bazar area on January 9. The individuals were identified as Asheto Chophy and Akheto Yeptho. Both admitted to involvement in multiple acts of extortion and armed robbery along the stretch between Burma Camp and 2 1/2 Mile Dimapur. One .22 pistol with magazine and three live rounds with some cash were seized from them.
Again on January 10, the AET apprehended one person from Sangtamtilla area for extorting money from truck drivers and seized Rs. 8100 from his possession. The apprehended person was identified as Atoka Awomi (22 yrs) RSI of NSCN (I-M), whose present address is Toluzuma, Dimapur.
In another incident on December 16, Dimapur police along with the AET, while on duty at Rail Bazar Dimapur, apprehended one person for collecting illegal tax from vegetable vendors. The arrested accused was identified as Herato Zhimo, (Present address Sematilla Dimapur).
3 arrest for robbery, theft
On December 27, 2018, on receipt of information about a Scorpio (White color) vehicle being snatched from a victim at Purana Bazar, Dimapur Police traced the vehicle to Wangram colony, Purana Bazar and recovered it from the possession of one Horthing Kapai.
On December 18, Dimapur Police apprehended one Shikato Awomi from Burma Camp, Dimapur while he was trying to steal a Scooty which was parked near Burma Camp Police Point. 
On December 29, one Babu Ali (20 yrs) S/o Abdul Uhab of  Dodo colony, PS- Khatkhati, Karbi Anglong, Assam was apprehended from Dimapur Railway Station platform for committing theft.
