MRVC: 1.85 lakh children vaccinated

Department of Health & Family Welfare (DoH&FW) Thursday informed that 1,85,481 children have been successfully vaccinated in the ongoing Measles and Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC).

In a press release, Dr. G.R Rio, medical officer UIP, H&FW directorate, said that a total of 1919 school sessions and 321 outreach sessions were conducted in Nagaland till October 9, 2018, without any untoward incidents.

The department stated that despite various rumours against vaccination on social media it has been moving forward and expressed determination to achieve the target set forth in the remaining 29 days of MRVC. 

Thanking all the parents, children of the target groups, health workers development partners, the DoH&FW has appealed to all parents to cooperate and come forth to get all children between 9 months to 15 years immunized with MR vaccine and be protected with the life-threatening Measles and Rubella diseases.

Further, the department expressed gratitude to the religious leaders, organizations and individuals for coming out openly to dispel the misinformation and doubts spread through various channels to protect future generations.
