A dedicatory program for the two lane road construction with paved shoulders from km 168.000 to km 183.783 (Yisemyong to Unger) in the Mokokchung to Tuli section of National Highway 61 (under EPC Mode in the state of Nagaland) was held January 12 morning at Mongsenyimti compound ground.
The dedicatory program was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, besides members from Mongsenyimti, Chuchuyimlang, Unger and Ungma village councils. Representatives from Ao Students Conference (AKM), Langpangkong Tzukong Mungdang, Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union (NCSU) Mokokchung, NH (PWD) Mokokchung Division also spoke in the program.
The Mokokchung DC said that the land holding system in the state was very different from other states where the village councils have a big say in the land systems. He therefore called upon the village councils to take the right initiatives in all developmental works. Akato Zhimomi, contractor, in his speech stated that this will be the first designed road for Mokokchung district. He also sought the cooperation and support of all the people in order to make it a better road.
A number of people also gave brief speeches where almost all the speakers spoke about extending their support and cooperation towards the project. They further urged the contractor to construct a good quality and long lasting road.
The program was chaired by Rev Dr. Noklen Lkr. The invocation was pronounced by Rev. Imti Ozukum, Mongsenyimti Compound Baptist Church. The vote of thanks was delivered by contractor K. Bendang Pongen.
