Saptiqa Area Students Union (SASU) held a general consultative meeting pertaining to the welfare of Saptiqa Government High School (SGHS) on January 12, where the house unanimously decided to ban the practice of “impersonation of legally appointed teachers”.

A press release from SASU president, Toino Awomi stated that at a time when education has become very competitive in urban areas, where students are taught by well qualified teachers, the academic career of students in Saptiqa area cannot be compromised where qualified government appointed teachers neglect their duties for whatever reasons and choose to practice the infamous system of impersonation by illegally installing proxies against their post.

The house pointed out that the career of students could not be compromised due to the negligence of teachers and it called upon the school administration to start their academic session as per government prescribed norms. Furthermore, the house also asked non teaching staff posted at Government High School Saptiqa to remain at their place of posting.

SASU cautioned that on failure to comply with the resolution, the union will not hesitate to report defaulters to the appropriate office which may affect the defaulting person's service. The meeting was attended by STH Saptiqa, GB Association Saptiqa, Saptiqa Area People's Organization, Dobashis and Adhoc Council Saptiqa.
