Seminar on conservation in Tuensang

Nagaland Community Conserved Areas Forum (NCCAF) conducted a district level seminar at CKS hall, Tuensang Town on June 13, to create awareness in conservation of nature, especially on the threatened and endangered species in the district.

A press release from NCCAF secretary, Heirang Lungalung stated that, DC Tuensang, Mohammed Ali Shihab, in his address urged the community leaders to be true to themselves and lead the people so that they become role models to follow. Pikato V Jimo (PoU) of Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development (NEPED) enlightened the role of the community in conservation.Dzüthovito Lcho, range officer, Forest department, Tuensang also spoke on the occassion.

Foundation for Ecological Security proposed habitats conservation at the landscape level, especially for the endangered and threatened species in the region.
