The Mission Board of Kumlong Baptist Church (KBC) organised its first Couples’ Seminar on February 9, at KBC, under the theme “Contextual Parenting.”  Rev. Dr. Takatemjen Ao, D.Th, founder–president of NEALEAST and Moala Taka were the resource persons for the program.

According to a press release by KBC, the main emphasis of the seminar was on how to have a healthy family life
Rev. Dr. Takatemjen Ao shared some insights into living a happy family. He said that the essence of a family was through both partners uplifting each other i.e. interacting, swapping stories, putting marriage and family first, breaking bread together, acknowledging every little success of their children, proper budgeting, having fellowship together, etc.
Child care, education, long-term care, and parenting were some other areas discussed in the seminar. Rev. Dr. Takatemjen quoted from Romans 13:8 and urged couples to love one another, accept each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and help and care for each other.
Moala Taka shared from her parental experiences and discussed the three pillars in a family which according to her are --Discipline, Prayer, and Forgiveness. Open discussions were also held after the sessions.
Altogether 35 couples attended the seminar. Earlier, the seminar began with a prayer by Dr. Zulu, Jamir, associate pastor (YM).  Kikum Longkumer, on behalf of the Church, thanked the resource persons for their contributions and also thanked the Mission Board. The seminar ended with a prayer.
