Sukhalu inaugurates Medziphema SDEO office

A Sub-divisional Education Office (SDEO), under Medziphema sub-division, was inaugurated by K. T. Sukhalu, advisor, School Education on February 11, in the presence of public leaders, teachers and officials of the department.

According to a press release by NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II A/C press secretary, Thejangukho Yalietsu, K.T. Sukhalu said that the new office was dedicated to the people and remarked that everyone should cooperate with the office, however they could, to better its record. He also thanked the government of Nagaland and particularly, Zhaleo Rio who, he said, was the driving force behind the new establishment. Sukhalu promised that the department would contribute its best for the welfare of the people but the public also must do their part in all matters related to development of schools and office.

Speaking as host of the program, Zhaleo Rio, deputy speaker NLA, thanked the government for installing the office under Medziphema division. Around 35 villages will directly benefit from it, Zhaleo said. He also acknowledged Tokheho Yepthomi, the then minister for School Education in 2017, who was instrumental in setting up the office in Medziphema. The deputy speaker advised the public as well as community leaders to be vigilant so that students were not deprived of their rights. He also lauded the efforts of KT Sukhalu, under whose guidance the office was established. He also requested the concerned department officials to consider availability of schools and teachers, especially in villages. He cited the example of Rüzaphema Block-3, which he said, has no teacher at present since the only two deputed teachers had gone for training. 

Zhaleo also donated one battery-operated wheelchair to a differently-abled person, Dhanraj, who had been selflessly cleaning public toilets over the years. 

The program was chaired by R. Amongla Jamir, DEO Dimapur. Dojü Khate, SDEO Medziphema, was the recorder; Dosau Kuotsu, president, NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II A/C, who also briefed the gathering, thanked everyone invoved for the successful establishment of the SDEO office. Rev. Megovoto Kuotsu, pastor, Medziphema Village Baptist Church, invoked God’s blessings, Rokosier Savino presented a special song and Akhoto Kuotsu, president, Medziphema Town Mechü Krotho, delivered the vote of thanks.
