Women SHGs taught value addition and food processing

Fifteen women representatives of four Self Help Groups (SHGs) and one co-operative society from ‘The Working Woman Project, Dimapur II’ were trained in post harvest management and value addition to garlic, ginger, onion powder, dried Chinese noodles and dried pasta, from February 1 to 7.

A press release from manager of Zatara Pvt Ltd, Tia Jamir stated that representatives from the following SHGs attended the training: Three Dimension, Raitube and Ningtan from Zeliangrong village, Mixed Ladies SHG from Industrial Estate and Roots Co-operative Society from Indisen village.

The ladies were taught basic knowledge of food preservation, processing, packaging, FSSAI standards and regulations, branding and marketing of products, by Sentinaro Alley, Washipong Longkumer, Mhonthung Jami and Tia Jamir from Zatara.

The training was conducted by Zatara Pvt. Ltd, funded by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer’s welfare, Government of India; Skill India, Government of India; STRY program under National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) and State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland.
