1 dead in road mishap in Sovima area

One autorickshaw driver was killed when a Nissan Terrano reportedly hit the auto from behind near Sovima junction, Chümoukedima in the wee hours of Wednesday. According to DCP (Crime) & PRO Dimapur police, the silver-coloured Nissan Terrano hit the Bajaj autorickshaw from behind. The deceased has been identified as one Tekatemjen (59 years), a resident of Mangmetong village, Mokokchung, and was currently residing in 6th Mile area.


Upon receiving information at around 3.58 a.m. Chümoukedima Traffic Control rushed to the spot. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead. PRO said that the driver of the Terrano, a 26-year-old male was under police custody and investigation was ongoing.
