Special Judge POCSO Tuensang has sentenced a man to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for kidnapping and raping a minor girl, age about five years.
In a press release, additional public prosecutor Tuensang, Kenile Kent, informed that Special Judge POCSO Tuensang, Longshithung Ezung, passed the judgement and order on May 22, 2023.
The accused identified as Berimong Yim of Kuthur village, was sentenced for committing offence u/s 376 AB I.P.C and 6 POCSO Act. The accused would also undergo five years (S.I) for committing offence u/s 363 I.P.C and pay a fine of Rs.10,000. APP Tuensang stated that the period of sentence would run consecutively, which would be 25 years in total.
