Based on FIR lodged by family members, Dimapur police, women cell, on August 19 arrested one person for allegedly molesting and raping his 16-year-old niece. The accused was identified as Girish Prasad, a painter by profession and presently residing in a village on the outskirts of Dimapur town. Police said the accused had confessed that he started molesting his niece while she was studying in class II. The accused also confessed that he used to threaten the minor with a dao while committing the crime. A case has been registered under Section 376 (f) and the accused remanded to police custody.
