One wooden house used as store room for shop was gutted by fire near North Police Station, Kitsubozou here on May 20 at around 4:30 a.m.
Sources said many people in the neighbourhood gathered to help douse the fire before the fire tenders reached the spot. Three fire engines that were pressed into action brought the fire under control before it could spread to the adjacent areas. Sources said the property destroyed was yet to be ascertained and the electrical short circuit was suspected to be the cause of the fire.
