A Tata Sumo carrying two persons including driver, travelling from Kiphire to Sitimi town met with an accident on February 26 near Langzanger village junction under Kiphire district. The deceased identified as Aghaka Sumi (25) son of, Hozheshe Sumi who hails from Nitoi village was killed on the spot while a driver identified as Avika Sumi son of, Vihoi of Honito village sustained minor injury. The injured driver was taken to District Hospital Kiphire for medical aid. The accident happened at around 4:30 p.m. Villagers from Natsami, Nitoi and some neighboring villagers assisted the injured and deceased. The cause of the accident is believed to be drunken driving.
