1 killed, 4 injured in Dimapur blast

NMDA,DCCI,BAN & EDBA  TO DOWN SHUTTERS FROM 6 A.M. TO 6 P.M.IN PROTEST 

One of the five persons injured in Monday night’s bomb blast inside a chemist shop at around 7.15 p.m. in Dimapur succumbed to injury at Nikos Hospital while another remained in critical state.
The blast occurred inside a chemist shop M/s Ideal Pharmacy at Nyamo Lotha Road adjacent to Breeze Restaurant.
  According to Nidhu Biswas, the owner of the shop M/s Ideal Pharmacy, he was standing outside the shop when two unidentified Naga youths arrived in a Maruti Car 800 and hurled the explosive then sped away. 
The blast sent shrapnel over the entire shop injuring two customers- Abdul Basit and Ihelung Newmai were seriously injured. The other inmates, three salesmen- Bidan Biswas, Dilwar Hussian and Mithu Biswas sustained minor injuries. All the injured were rushed to Nikos Hospital for emergency treatment.  Abdul Basit, who suffered serious injury was shifted to the ICU but his condition worsened and finally succumbed to injury at around 10:40 p.m.
  The partition of the shop was also partially damaged by the impact of the blast. One of the residents told Nagaland Post, that the impact of the blast was so intense that it shook the building. Police who were on the scene suspected a low intensity crude bomb was used in the attack.  The owner of the shop denied that the blast had anything to do with any ‘tax’ demand. However, when contacted, police said that it was too early to make any conclusive remark and the facts would emerge only after proper investigation.  

12-HOUR SHUTTERS DOWN IN DIMAPUR 
To protest against the bomb attack on a chemist shop on Monday night in Dimapur, Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA), Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), Business Association of Nagas (BAN) and East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) have jointly called for a lightning shutters down on all shops and business premises on Tuesday (May 30)from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
HM condemns blast, promises speedy probe

KOHIMA, MAY 29 (NPN): Nagaland Home Minister Y. Patton has expressed anguish and condemnation over the bomb attack on a chemist shop in Dimapur Monday night where five were injured.  
In a press note, Patton described it as a “barbarous act of a miscreant” that was  unacceptable especially when the entire Naga nation was longing for peace.
Patton reaffirmed commitment against those indulging in such acts and vowed to leave no stone unturned to nab and expose those responsible. He also expressed sympathy to the injured persons and wished speedy recovery.
NMDA: Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) president Ato Yepthomi has condemned the bomb attack on a Chemist shop. He said when medicine dealers were committed to serve society, such attack was uncalled for. 
NMDA expressed the hope that police will identify and book those involved at the earliest.
