DIMAPUR: One person was killed in a bus accident near a bridge along the Chare-Mokokchung road on August 26. The bus was carrying students and teachers of Christ King School, Angangba Village, Longkhim, Tuensang, who were travelling to Mopungchuket for a study tour.
According to reports, the mishap claimed the life of the bus attendant, while several others sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, the Mopungchuket Community Tourism Society expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident. In a statement, it mourned the loss of the bus attendant and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. It also conveyed concern for the injured students, teachers and others affected, praying for their speedy recovery.
The Society affirmed its solidarity with the school, families and all those impacted by the tragedy, stating: “May the departed soul rest in peace, and may God grant strength and comfort to the bereaved family during this difficult time.”
