An office bearer of Ao Kaketshir Mundang (Ao Students Conference) died after the motorcycle he was riding rammed into an excavator while on his way to Kohima for a meeting. The mishap occurred at Seithekema area, near the bypass to Noune resort around 11 am Wednesday.
Chümoukedima traffic control, identified the victim as Imnayachet Mollier (28), from Mongjen village under Mokokchung district. The victim was currently residing in Kuhuboto village under Niuland district and involved as social and culture secretary for Ao Student’s Conference (AKM).
Police said Imayachet was headed for an official meeting to Kohima when the mishap happened.
On hearing the news, the traffic duty officer rushed to the spot but learnt that the victim had already been rushed to nearby CIHSR hospital by a passerby in alto car but declared brought dead. The body was later handed over to the deceased’s relatives police said.
