President of Brickfield Owners’ Union (BOU), Dimapur, Sandeep Kumar Singh was shot dead by three unidentified gunmen in front of his house at Padampukhuri, Saturday at around 4:15 a.m.
Police said according to an FIR lodged by the wife of the deceased, Khekatoli Sumi, three unidentified gunmen came to their residence, called her husband out and after taking him to the main gate, shot him dead.
Meanwhile, ‘GPRN/ NSCN’ in a press released alleged that Sandeep was shot dead by five NSCN (I-M) activists who came in a Gypsy. Condoling the death, ‘GPRN/ NSCN’ asked whether Sandeep was murdered because he happened to be the son-in-law of Hojei Swu, kilonser in the ‘GPRN/NSCN’ and caretaker, UT-1.
Stating that such killings would only boomerang, ‘GPRN/NSCN’ cautioned those responsible not to blame the Nagas for any retaliation.
‘GPRN/ NSCN’ deputy kilonser (defence) Akato Chophi has also condemned the killing of Sandeep.
