In a delayed report, one person identified as Macetpe Irangbe (33) of Benreu village was reportedly shot-dead by hunters on December 23. The dead body with large bullet entry wound on the right upper chest, was recovered from Puizam Sumki area on December 24 morning by Benreu villagers. SP Peren in a press note said that based on statements of witnesses and evidences, six suspects from Ndunglwa village were apprehended on December 25. Upon investigation, one of the suspects– Haikiengbe (20) admitted that he shot Irangbe, SP said. SP further said investigation was in process to ascertain the involvement of the other five suspects. After conducting postmortem at Naga Hospital Kohima, the body was handed over to the relatives.
