The 10th edition of CoMFIESTA, an annual event of the Department of Management and Commerce, Tetso College, was held on Friday, at Lorin Hall.
Delivering the keynote address as the special guest, founder and proprietor of Fusion Dimapur, Temsusenla Jamir encouraged students to pursue their dreams with faith, perseverance and purpose, pointing that no matter what they do in life, it should be with God’s plan, and that nothing goes beyond His will.
Recounting her early struggles and drawing from her personal journey as an entrepreneur with over 12 years of experience in the retail sector, Jamir shared that her entrepreneurial journey began between 2000 and 2002, when she worked part-time at a pharmacy after college hours, earning just Rs. 800 a month.
She said that those humble beginnings and experiences in various retail stores laid the foundation for what she has achieved today.
Meanwhile, highlighting on Fusion’s growth since its inception in 2014, Jamir said the enterprise has now completed 11 years, working alongside more than 250 local entrepreneurs. She credited teamwork and dedication for helping place Nagaland in a better position, by promoting home grown talent and sustainable ventures.
Sharing her vision, she outlined key goals of Fusion, enabling sustainable income, building confidence among artisans to sell their unique creations, celebrating Nagaland’s cultural heritage, merging tradition with innovation, and promoting local brands and products.
Meanwhile, stating that she comes from a generation where there was no internet or smartphones, Jamir urged students to make the most of the opportunities available today through social media and digital platforms.
She also encouraged them to take advantage of various state and central government schemes designed to support young entrepreneurs.
Concluding her address Jamir underscored the importance of skill-based learning, stating that even if one is well-learned, being skilled was equally vital.
