11 Mon wards urge govt to fulfil 1964 pact

The Eleven Wards Chairmen (EWC) of Mon town has appealed to the state government to fulfil the 1964 agreement between the state government and Chi-Mon.
In a press release, secretary Chenkang and convenor T. Temtok stated that the agreement between the state government and Chi-Mon was the main reason for “non-participation in the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) election.”
In this regard, the chairmen have asked the state government to “immediately intervene” in solving the long pending issue in order to pave way for a smooth implementation of development in Mon Town through the conduct of ULB elections in Mon town.
