To mark the 119th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Dimapur Bongs organized a programme here at Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) office premises, Saturday.
Emphasizing on the importance of the celebration, commandant 32 Assam Rifles, Colonel V.S Shikawat described Subhash Chandra Bose as an intellectual, great, successful and dynamic leader. He further encouraged the students to read the biography of Subhash Chandra Bose and be inspired.
Quoting “A good thing that a man does is never remembered but a man who does bad is never forgotten”, Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) chairman, Andrew Ahoto said that heroes who have sacrificed for the country should not be forgotten because they are the ones’ who have done great things so that the rest could live peacefully.
He also encouraged the gathering to have mutual understanding among each other and encouraged the gathering to honour those who have done well as well as those who are trying to do well for a better tomorrow.
Ahoto then asked the gathering to learn to survive together as one and let humanity grow within ourselves keeping aside religion differences.
Other highlights of the programme include sit and draw competition, blood donation camp, blood painting which was followed by “patriotic nite” from Sargam cultural association.
