
The 11th Sürümi Award Trust (SAT) presentation ceremony was held at SBC (Aizüto) on December 19 with Hewoto Yeptho, retd. joint director (agri) and trustee as the main speaker.
In a press release, SAT secretary, Hotoshe Sema Awomi informed that while addressing the gathering, the speaker shared on how he had struggled during his time with mere and limited facilities. In this regard, he said that the students today were lucky with better study atmosphere, therefore, they were expected to better.
Exhorting the educated unemployed youth, he cited examples of Lionel Messi, Narendra Modi and Amitabh Bachchan and pointed out how persistence effort could bring laurels and glory even after great struggle and failures.
Kinito Jakhalu from Mount View School, Suruhuto received the award under the rural (village based), Elina H. Sümi from Mount View School Suruhuto under rural (Suruhuto area), Kumughato T. Yeptho from Olympic HSS, Zünheboto under urban (NBSE) and Limeka Hutoi Ayemi from Assam Valley School, Sonitpur under urban (CBSE/ICSE etc).
SAT-PGLAAMC award for subject topper in MIL (Sümi) was bagged by Elina H. Sümi (NBSE subject topper) of Mount View School, Suruhuto and SAT Akighiché Shepe award to those students who secures admission to various professional degree courses went to Inoto H. Jakhalu – B.E. (Civil) at Veltech University, Chennai, Kahovi Aye – B.Tech. (Civil) at Shivalik College of Engineering, Dehradun and Akinali H. Ayemi – B.Arch. at Shushant University, Gurgaon.
The programme was chaired by women leader, Ghünali Aye who also said the benediction, SSC president and trustee, Boto Awomi recorded the ceremony proceedings while pastor Pekah Zhimo invoked God’s blessings on the awardees
Earlier, invocation was said by women pastor Bethel Chophi, welcome address by STL president and trustee Hutoni K. Achumi and a special number by SSU president and trustee Vikishe Jakhalu.
