12 cadets from Nagaland attend ‘All India Vayu Sainik Camp’

12 cadets from 1 Nagaland Air Squadron NCC under NCC Group HQ Kohima were participating in the All India Vayu Sainik Camp which commenced on September 23 at Bengaluru. The camp will culminate on October 4.


In a press release, PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh informed that the NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region contingent with 38 cadets, 24 Senior Division (Boys) and 14 Senior Wing (Girls) will be competing in various fields such as Drill, Skeet Shooting, 0.22 Rifle Shooting, Tent Pitching & Line Area Competition, Health & Hygiene, Air Force specific subject (Emphasis on Flying related subjects), Standard Operating Procedures of flying Virus Microlight/Zen Air Aircrafts etc.


All India Vayu Sainik Camp, a centrally organised camp has been held every year organised by the Directorate General, NCC where Air Wing Cadets from 17 NCC Directorates from different region of the country were participating in the camp.


At the camp, the training standards of Air Wing NCC units were also assessed in accordance with the Air Force pattern, generating a competitive spirit, and foster a sense of discipline, leadership, and national integration amongst the participating cadets.


Cadets from Nagaland were Shekato Yeptho and Priyanka Mech from Eastern Christian College, Lanmi Khamrang, Hikivi Aye, Ngipnon, Kenzeuyigongbe Elu, S. Ngou Shio, Kevikelie Nyekha, from Patkai Christian College and Ngamlih Yalam, Ngwaying Lungalang, Machipeuheile, Phamlong A Konyak, from Kohima Science College.
