12 Myanmar-based NSCN (K) cadres join NSCN (R)

Twelve Myanmar-based armed cadres from NSCN (K) led by ‘maj. gen.’ Tingkam Konyak and ‘brig.’ Tampha Konyak joined the NSCN/GPRN (R). In a press note, NSCN(R) MIP secretary said that an official programme to welcome the officers and cadres was organised at council headquarters (CHQ), Pinhang, Tizit on Saturday.

NSCN/GPRN (R) president Y Wangtin Naga and ato kilonser P Tikhak expressed their profound happiness, thanked the officers and cadres for taking the right decision in joining the group and warmly welcomed all of them, MIP said.

On their part, Tingkam and Tampha thanked the collective leadership of NSCN (R) for giving them yet another opportunity to work for the nation. They expressed their complete faith on the able leadership of Y Wangtin Naga and P Tikhak and vowed to work with renewed zeal and vigour for the Naga national cause, it added.

They also expressed their unhappiness over the killing among Naga brothers in Myanmar, which they termed as highly disturbing and not helping any group or faction in any manner. Rather, they contended that it was sending a very wrong signal to the outside world, MIP said.

Stressing that leaders in both the camp must understand that they were becoming more directionless with each factional clash that only ridiculed the Naga cause, they appealed to both the warring factions to come to their senses and stop these senseless killing immediately and prevent further loss of life and suffering of the Naga people in Myanmar, MIP stated.
