12,150 visitors on Day-1 of Hornbill Fest

A total number of 12,150 visitors witnessed the inaugural day of the Hornbill festival. It included- 150 foreign tourists, 2000 domestic tourists and around 10,000 local visitors, according to the information provided by tourist officer statistical –in-charge Toka E Tuccumi. On the first day, visitors were mostly government officials and programme part takers. Last year on the first day, the turned out was around 22,740 including foreign tourists 180, domestic tourists 2560 and local visitors 20,000. There was an assumption that the recent demonetization was the reason for the lesser turnout this year.
