Troops of 164 Inf Bn (TA) (H&H) NAGA under the aegis of HQ 3 Corps and HQ IGAR (N) apprehended three individuals carrying a huge cache of ganja on January 20.
In a press release by 164 Inf Bn (TA), the consignment of narcotics weighing approximately 80 kg worth Rs. 1.23 lakhs in market was recovered from a red Maruti Alto travelling from Senapati District, Manipur towards Kohima.
It said the mobile vehicle check post established by 164 Inf Bn (TA) (H&H) NAGA intercepted the vehicle without registration number at Phesama village, Kohima. The three apprehended individuals have been identified as Roshan Thapa (22) son of Prem Bahadur Thapa of Taphu Nepali, Dhiraj Gurung (22) son of Chakra Bahadur Gurung of Taphu Nepali and Abina Mao (35) daughter of Lowo Mao of Sekmai village all from Senapati District of Manipur.
The apprehended individuals along with the recovered contraband have been handed over to the officer-in-charge, Khuzama Police Station, Kohima and FIR under the Narcotics Act has been lodged, informed the release.
