173 Bn CRPF holds tree plantation drive

173 Battalion CRPF organized a tree plantation programme at its Battalion Headquarters, Airfield, Dimapur, on April 1. The initiative was held in coordination with Pappu Ram Choudhary, founder of Oxihunger Foundation, who arrived in Dimapur as part of his nationwide cycle expedition from Nagaur, Rajasthan, enroute to scaling Mt. Everest.
The plantation drive is part of the continuous efforts of 173 Bn CRPF to promote the rich flora and fauna of the region. Narayan Balai, 2I/C, 173 Bn CRPF, lauded the noble journey undertaken by Choudhary and appreciated the Oxihunger Foundation for spreading awareness on fitness, health, and the benefits of tree plantation among the masses.
Dinesh Chandra Singh, 2I/C OPS, Heiyilung Nsarangbe, DC, along with unit personnel, actively participated in the drive and pledged to carry forward the programme to the wider public.
