The 18th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Yisemyong Mokokchung was held on February 13, 2025, at the ADC Planning Conference Hall, Mokokchung. The meeting aimed on strategizing future interventions for the agricultural development of the district.
Delivering keynote address, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Mokokchung, Dr. Keviletsu Khate, emphasized the vital role of KVK in spreading scientific knowledge and technology to farmers. He also provided details about the various activities, training programs, and capacity-building initiatives conducted by KVK in the district.
The Annual Action Plan (AAP) 2025 was presented by ACTO (Soil Conservation), Imtilemla, who outlined various mandated activities, such as OFT, FLD, training programs, and seedling production, to be conducted by different disciplines of KVK.
SAC committee members from various agriculture and allied departments, including the District Agriculture Officer, Mokokchung; Jt. Director, SARS, Yisemyong, Mokokchung; District Soil Conservation Officer, Mokokchung; officers from the District Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, District Horticulture Office, Fishery Department Mokokchung, and All India Radio (AIR), attended the meeting. The committee members provided valuable suggestions to improve and incorporate into the Annual Action Plan.
Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), District Agriculture Officer, Mokokchung, requested the KVK to assist farmers in the district with off-season crop production. He also emphasized the importance of increasing the production of biofertilizers, such as azolla, for the benefit of the farmers.
A booklet titled “Ethnic Ao Naga Food,” published by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mokokchung, was also released during the event. The program was chaired by ACTO (Horticulture), Khekali Sema and vote of thanks was delivered by ACTO (Agronomy),Tokiho Achumi.
