The Department of Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) launched its first-ever Foundational Music Production Workshop at The Centre of Excellence in Music and Arts, Kohima, on March 6. The event was inaugurated by Additional Director of Information & Public Relations (IPR), Kevizayieno.
Addressing the gathering, Kevizayieno commended TaFMA for creating opportunities for young musicians and emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering youth for self-sustaining careers. Encouraging participants to strive for excellence, she highlighted the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern music production, stating that AI is now a necessity for the industry’s growth and efficiency.
Project Director of TaFMA, Dr. Hovthal Sothu, in his welcome speech, described the workshop as a historic milestone for the department. He reaffirmed TaFMA’s dedication to providing the right training and opportunities to aspiring artists in line with the government’s vision for the music and arts sector.
The two-day workshop is being led by music producer Imcha Imchen and features 22 participants from across Nagaland. Key topics covered include Technical Foundations of Music Production, Understanding Sound, Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), Recording Techniques, Sound Design, Mixing & Mastering, and the Business & Future of Music Production.
