1st Nagaland Pickleball Open to debut at AIKO Greens

DIMAPUR, JUL 11 (NPN)

The Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA) is gearing up for its flagship event, the inaugural 1st Nagaland Pickleball Open, slated for July 13, at AIKO Greens, Dimapur. This premier tournament will feature Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories, ushering in a new chapter for pickleball in the state.
Founded on March 27, 2025, NPA has rapidly emerged as a key promoter of the sport, aiming to make pickleball accessible and celebrated across Nagaland. The upcoming event signifies the association’s strategic commitment to fostering competitive participation and grassroots development.
As part of the tournament build-up, International Pickleball Player & coach Dilip Mohanty will lead a special training clinic on July 12 (6 PM to 8 PM).
A certified PPR coaches tutor (USA) and director of PPR India, Mohanty brings global expertise that promises to enhance local player performance and understanding of the game.
Led by president Nathan Zeliang, NPA functions under the umbrella of the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
The association is also affiliated with the Global Pickleball Federation, reaffirming its alignment with international standards and its broader vision for sports excellence.
Registration is now open for interested players, while media partners are encouraged to connect with NPA for event coordination.
The association extended best wishes to all participants and reiterated its goal of establishing pickleball as one of Nagaland’s most inclusive and dynamic sporting cultures.
