Two jawans of 44 Assam Rifles posted at Longleng were grievously injured when lightning struck them while on duty. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when they were on duty at their makeshift camp at Longleng peak some 100 metres away from the company headquarters. Immediately, the injured jawans were admitted to district hospital Longleng assisted by Longleng police. After providing all possible medication they were shifted to Unit hospital, Mokokchung.
